Kenshi Yonezu performs the theme song for the film The Apothecary Diaries: The Late Lady’s Treasure, the official website announced, together with a new trailer set to the song. The song is titled 春が灯り, which the website says is read “Haru ga Tomori.” The film opens in cinemas in Japan on December 11, 2026.

The artist was revealed during the third-anniversary special streamed on October 22.

About the song

Yonezu wrote the song after meetings with original author Natsu Hyuuga and director Norihiro Naganuma. He said that while studying the script, he turned to Japanese children's songs, and was strongly influenced by “Tulip” and “Antagata Dokosa.” He described the song as being about what is passed on between people, which he said does not need anyone's approval or any formal procedure.

The trailer

The trailer opens on the song's bouncing piano phrase. Maomao and Jinshi travel to the lands of a powerful clan to return the body of a mid-ranking consort who died five years earlier to her home. There they meet Mu Qing, the clan's youngest son, shunned by the other children as the son of a concubine, and a former head lady-in-waiting who once served the consort. A water-bandit leader hunting for treasure hidden by the clan's late head stirs up trouble, and the head of the consort's body is stolen.

Dates and news for the film are collected on its Where to Watch page.
