- Commemorative screening for Gintama Day
October 10 has been officially designated as 'Gintama Day', and to mark it, a tsukkomi (heckling) and cheering screening of Gintama the Movie 2026: Yoshiwara in Flames in its extended cut will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at twelve theatres across Japan, including Lawson United Cinema Sapporo, Aeon Cinema Shin-Rifu and TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro. Screenings are planned to start between 18:00 and 20:00; each theatre's website has the exact times.
Tickets can be bought through the usual sales channels at the respective venues, at standard prices. Movie Tickets and the usual discount services are accepted; free passes and invitations are not. Audience members will receive a special 'Gintama Day' sticker as a keepsake. The screenings are interactive, permitting the use of glow sticks and voicing support, but ask patrons to keep items below shoulder height to maintain visibility for all.
Notes for the interactive sessions include avoiding disruptive actions such as jumping or shouting, and refraining from any unauthorized recording within the theater. The event will also be documented by media and might be broadcast or published through various outlets.
