The theatrical anime Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru) has released its final trailer, first shown during a special news broadcast on September 30, 2026. The last trailer before the film opens is also its longest, with many new shots, and it plays the full first verse of "Yoru to Ao" ("Night and Blue"), a new song by supercell, which has been announced as the film’s theme song artist.
The synopsis and staff were revealed at the same time. Aoko Aozaki is a magician living in the present day, though still an apprentice: student council president by day, she spends her nights practising magecraft with her housemate, the magus Alice Kuonji. One quiet, freezing, rainy morning, Aoko is called to school and meets Soujuurou Shizuki, a transfer student who has come to the city from the mountains.
Masaru Takeuchi directs, with Hikaru Kondo as chief director, character designs by Moe Tsuzuki and music by Hideyuki Fukasawa. ufotable animates the film, and Toho and Aniplex distribute it. It opens in Japanese theaters on November 20, 2026.
