The film Gekijouban Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Bouhi no Hihou, an entirely new story by original author Natsu Hyuuga for The Apothecary Diaries, is releasing character trailers on four consecutive days, the official website announced.
- October 11: Maomao, Jinshi and their party
- October 12 to 14: new characters and groups from the film, one a day (the Bi clan, the Kaja-dan water bandits, and Ruochin and Inshan)
The first trailer shows Maomao and Jinshi setting out for a city on the water on the Emperor’s orders, to look into the body of a mid-ranking consort who died five years ago. Maomao lights up at a secret medicine and presses Jinshi for it, while also sensing something wrong in the late consort’s last wish to return home. Jinshi, meanwhile, struggles with his duties as the Emperor’s younger brother.
Familiar faces from the TV series appear as well, including Gaoshun, Basen, Lahan, Lihaku, Rikuson and Lakan, with an attack by assassins, Basen in action, and Lakan desperately searching for his daughter Maomao.
