The TV anime Kizuguchi to Houtai will premiere on Saturday, January 9, 2027, the official website announced, along with a theme visual, the first teaser PV, “Ai” (Love), and its two leads: Hisako Kanemoto as Riyo Washizu and Chikahiro Kobayashi as Gou Kiritani.

Hisako Kanemoto said she hoped to convey the characters’ rich expressions and inner lives through her voice as the show moves between love, comedy and their peculiar quirks. Chikahiro Kobayashi said the series is recorded in the morning and that all the shouting leaves him energized for the rest of the day.
A new theme visual, PV and cast announcement will follow each week for the next four weeks, and the anime has opened an official TikTok account.
According to the official website, the series is based on Nanai Umihoshi’s manga, serialized in Kodansha’s Tsuki Maga Kichi, and is directed by Miyuki Ishida with scripts by Susumu Yamakawa at J.C.STAFF.
